vTuner's ratings
One of vTuner's unique features are station quality ratings based on reliability, bandwidth,
and sound quality. This information is available to the users of the Web site and vTuner Plus,
with reliability only for the Plus. The information is made available to the user to minimize
frustration with stations that might not always be available and to set the correct expectations,
giving the user the information that's not available anywhere else.
vTuner's MediaSure™ technology
vTuner's MediaSure™ proprietary distribution and quality control technology always keeps vTuner's
station database current, and working. The stations are always changing and so must the database,
which must be distributed in an efficient manner. To insure quality control the stations are regularly
tested, with additions and removals of stations automatically submitted to the database.
When MediaSure™ tests each broadcast, it collects important data such as RealPlayer® codec used,
and the bandwidth output of the station. Results are tabulated and then given a rating for
the appropriate category. This assures the user the ability to see how reliable stations are and
to see what format and bandwidth each station uses for it's broadcast.
Both of these tasks are invisible to the user, and only see the working stations and quality
information on the broadcasts, to make informed choices.
